Drive & Handling
The new 2018 Camry is available with your choice of either an all-new 2.5-liter inline-4 or a new 3.5-liter V6. The Camry Hybrid (reviewed separately) is also new for 2018.
The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine is inspired by TNGA and is paired with a new Direct Shift eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard across the model lineup. Generating 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, this powertrain is rated at 34 mpg combined (29 mpg city, 41 mpg highway) on the base model and 32 mpg combined (28 mpg city, 39 mpg highway) on LE models and above.**
The 3.5-liter generates 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque and front-wheel drive. This powertrain is rated at 26 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 33 mpg highway) on the base model and 26 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway) on XSE models.**
